I have been a solicitor now for 23 years and understand how stressful the job can be in whatever discipline or level you are. I have often experienced a very heavy workload, or difficult clients, which causes extreme anxiety at times, as I am sure you all have. For me anxiety has often woken me up in the night or caused me to criticise or judge myself. I think solicitors are amongst the worst for this and subsequently often experience the result of that behaviour as low mood or eventually depression. Just stop and think about what you are saying to yourself as your mind will take those comments onboard. As a way for me to navigate those demands and to survive mentally over the years, I have had to find a balance to that anxiety and stress, and for me that is Energy Management.
About 16 years ago I had my first Reiki treatment and something very strange happened during the session. The experience did not frighten me, but it did make me incredibly curious as to where this energy came from, what it was made of and what it could be used for. Move forward 16 years and I have had a passion to learn as much as I can about energy healing modalities and in the process now teach and help people one to one with their Energy Management. What I have learnt is that when we are not feeling well and we go to a traditional doctor, something that I would fully advocate, we look at our physical bodies, our diets, our supplements, our exercise and our environment. All are necessary for us to be aware of, but for me one factor is constantly missed off the list and that is what is happening in our energy fields. Has the energy in one area become stagnant, stuck or even broken? If we are able to look at the health of our energy field on a daily basis and structure a routine to carry out a couple of energy practises (taking no more than 5 or 10 minutes a day), then the benefits are huge. We become calmer and more balanced, and that of course affects the way that we move through life, our job and the decisions that we make.
So why does our energy sometimes get stuck or stagnant? This is a result of us holding onto negative emotions, beliefs or perspectives. Eventually that stagnation effect will work itself through to the physical body causing physical symptoms to occur, which is our body’s alarm system that there are emotions that have not been dealt with and which need to be released. If you are suffering from physical symptoms as you read this, think about what was happening in your life when they first started. This one question can often be very enlightening and give a hint as to what is being held there. For example, were you grieving or had just gone through a divorce?
Energy management is about locating those negative thoughts, emotions and beliefs and releasing them. As soon as we do so the energy blockage will shift, and the energy will flow again. If you can understand the connection that has been made between an emotion and a physical symptom, then the healing and release will start automatically. When we get that realisation then the energy will start flowing again, and the symptoms will diminish.
I continue to work in law but now offer Energy Management sessions to those looking to find an effective balance to the stresses and strains of the job. Of course, it does not stop life happening, but it does help you to feel calmer and more balanced. If you are interested in experiencing such a session then please get in touch.
